Reaching People at Rock Bottom

Danny knows what it’s like to reach rock bottom. Raised in a loving Christian home, he lost his way as a teenager, falling into destructive behaviors that led him down a path of isolation, abuse and despair. But it was when he hit his lowest point — his rock bottom — that he experienced a profound encounter with God’s love. This turning point led him to rehab and, ultimately, to a renewed faith in Jesus. Now, through Rock Bottom Hope, an organization Danny and his wife founded in 2020, he has dedicated his life to sharing this hope, helping others break free from addiction and find healing in Jesus Christ.

Reaching People for Jesus in Difficult Contexts

Through collaborative efforts with missionaries in the Middle East, we have a remarkable opportunity to impact some of the most unreached individuals for Jesus and support their spiritual growth, igniting a sense of purpose and a desire to contribute to God’s Kingdom. It’s a call to be involved in meaningful change, and everyone can play a role. Pray holds immense power and can bring about substantial transformations. There is no limit to the impact our collective prayers can have, reminding us of the boundless potential we possess to make a positive difference.

Discipling Isolated Believers

Satellite technology remains a crucial tool in our mission, as it operates beyond the bounds of censorship and monitoring. Partnerships with organizations like SAT-7 are vital to our efforts in nurturing the faith of new Christians residing in closed areas, where openly congregating as a Christian community is often impossible. Leveraging technology, organizations like SAT-7 facilitate theological education, delivering the message of salvation to those who find themselves isolated. SAT-7 helps spread the Good News of Christ and offers ongoing discipleship support through fellowship programs. Thanks to the unwavering support of The Woodlands Methodist Church, SAT-7 has been able to extend its outreach and provide counseling to more individuals than ever before.

Discipling the Next Generation

In the heart of Africa, a movement is unfolding, driven by the power of prayer and fearless faith. Carole Ward, founder and international director of Favor International, began her journey as a missionary 22 years ago by turning a humble hut into a house of prayer, sparking a wave of intercession that rippled across Uganda. What started as small gatherings led to 77 hours of continuous prayer, and in a miraculous turn, a regional war was stopped, proving the power of prayer. Today, alongside 160 missionaries, Carole is raising up a new generation of believers who have died to fear and fully surrendered to Christ. These missionaries, passionate and unshaken, are willing to go wherever God calls, knowing their eternity is secure. Their mission is not self-preservation but to bring the gospel to those who have never heard, offering their lives for the sake of His kingdom.

Helping Through Building

Andrew Chang felt a personal nudge from God to join a Quest Men’s Fellowship mission trip to Honduras after hearing a call to action from Pastor Daniel Lumpee. The group worked on building three walls of a church, an experience that pushed Andrew physically but deepened his spiritual walk as he reflected on Christ’s sacrifice for us. Despite the challenges, Andrew found inspiration in the unity of cultures and languages working together for a common purpose.

Helping Through Healing

Julie Green had been on mission trips before, but the most recent TWMC Women’s medical mission trip to Honduras was her first experience on a medical mission trip. Feeling called to witness God’s healing hands at work, she served alongside women of faith. A divine God-led experience with a man seeking forgiveness reminded Julie of the spiritual connection that transcends language and borders. She encourages others to step out in faith and join the mission.

Helping Through Guiding

Ephesians 2:10 has been a guiding verse in Dan’s life, reminding him that he is God’s workmanship. Growing up in missions-minded TWMC, Dan became involved with UM Army in high school, witnessing firsthand how simple acts of service could profoundly impact lives. When Dan joined the Army after high school, he shared his faith with fellow soldiers. This experience revealed to him his calling to share the gospel, which he has carried into his current role as Executive Director of Angel Reach, a ministry partner of TWMC that provides housing and life skills to young adults aging out of foster care. With many of these youth lacking the tools needed to transition into productive adulthood, Angel Reach offers safe, temporary residences and critical support.
